Short Summer Poems

bouquet_of_flowers

June begins
morning birds sing
in rain-washed air

* * *

forget-me-nots
bloom everywhere
love endures

* * *

rich colors
of primroses
was it their prayers
I overheard?

* * *

trees by the water
greet the sun
old words
find new forms

* * *

a few fireflies
by the window
prayers before dawn

* * *

late day sun
old wild roses
bloom again in June

* * *

summer leaves
in cool green breeze
a new generation
builds sand castles
on the beach

* * *
